Install on Fire TV
Install the Zero Cable TV app on your Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV. It takes about five minutes, and you only do it once.
What you need
- Your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, switched on and connected to the internet.
- Your Zero Cable email and app password.
Step 1 — Allow apps to be installed
- On the Fire TV, open Settings.
- Choose My Fire TV → Developer Options.
- Turn Install unknown apps on (some models call this Apps from Unknown Sources).
If you do not see Developer Options: open Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight Fire TV Stick, and press the select button seven times. It will appear.
Step 2 — Install the Downloader app
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search.
- Search for Downloader (by AFTVnews) and install it.
- Open Downloader and allow it to access files if it asks.
Step 3 — Enter the Downloader code
Enter 9846472 in Downloader and press Go. Check that the destination is zerocabletv.com/tv.apk, then choose Install and Open.
If the code does not open, enter the backup address in Downloader instead.
Step 4 — Sign in
- Open the Zero Cable TV app. It shows a short code and a web address.
- On your phone or computer, go to zerocabletv.com/activate and enter the code, or sign in directly in the app with your email and app password.
- Pick your profile and start watching.

Scan this with your phone camera to read these steps on a bigger screen while you work on the TV.
Updating an existing installation
Install the new file the same way — over the top of the old app. Your sign-in and settings are kept, so you will not need to sign in again. If the app tells you a newer version is available, repeat Step 3 with the same Downloader code or backup address.
Which version is this?
If something goes wrong
- "App not installed" — the app is already installed from a different source. Delete the old Zero Cable TV app, then repeat Step 3.
- Downloader cannot download — check the code was entered as 9846472, with no spaces. If needed, use the backup download address above.
- No picture but you can hear sound — try another title. The app now says so on screen when a video cannot be shown, instead of leaving a black picture.
- Still stuck — contact support and tell us the version number shown above.
